For children aged 4–14 who learn differently
Not a tutor. A specialist. For children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other learning differences.
Supporting children with additional learning needs to rebuild confidence, develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills and succeed within mainstream schooling — while guiding parents through the complexity of inclusive education.
Every child deserves to be understood. That’s where I start.
“I’ve spent nearly thirty years working with children who learn differently, and I still find it the most meaningful work I know.”
I’m an educator with nearly three decades in classroom teaching, disability inclusion and specialist literacy and numeracy intervention. I hold postgraduate qualifications in Special Education and Inclusive Schooling, and I’ve worked across government, Catholic and independent school systems in New South Wales and Victoria.
My early career as an Applied Behaviour Analysis therapist shaped my understanding of autism and behavioural learning needs. I combine evidence-based practice with a calm, structured approach that builds confidence, independence and measurable academic progress.

What parents say
We had such a positive experience with Monika for our 8-year-old daughter. Monika taught her for a couple of years when she was in primary school. Monika was kind, patient, and had a wonderful way of connecting with our daughter. Our daughter trusted her and they had a wonderful rapport. Monika explained concepts clearly and made learning enjoyable, which really helped build our daughter’s confidence. We noticed a great improvement not only in her understanding but also in her attitude towards learning. We were so grateful for Monika’s support and would happily recommend her to any family looking for a caring and effective teacher.

I had the pleasure of employing Monika Sztendur for support with my two children who have ASD and ADHD. I found her to be super organised, very efficient and a great communicator. More importantly she was able to engage my kids and keep their attention, interest and focus. They really felt super comfortable with Monika and that was not always something that came easily with other people. My kids read people well and I never ever had any doubts with Monika being a wonderful match. I had full trust in Monika to be not only great at her work and to be fabulous with engagement. But crucially her experience in schools also gave the added advantage of being aware and up to date with exactly what was needed in terms of current curriculum and standards. I would not hesitate to endorse her as her experience is excellent and an added bonus, she is great to work with.

We couldn't recommend Monika more highly and we cannot thank her enough for the positive influence on our daughters' life. Monika came highly recommended and as first-time parents we needed someone we could trust. We engaged Monika to improve our daughter's reading before she started school, giving her the head start she needed so our daughter could focus all her energy on getting through the school day. Monika raised our daughter's reading ability well beyond what was required and cemented her love of reading. Beyond teaching reading Monika was our daughter's first teacher and mentor. Monika's mentoring helped build our daughter's confidence and independence which prepared her for a successful first year of school.
